Default Hyundai purge valve fixes P0440 code

I had a P0440 code in my 2000 Discovery. After searing old threads I found that a Hyundai Purge valve is identical to the Land rover purge valve, but alot cheaper. Now I do not have any codes and it passed emissions. I paid $43. Lr wants over $100. The new one has a filter in it. The Hyundai part number is 28910-22040

I also did this Hyundai part swap and have no more check engine lights for the past 5-6 months. Much beefier than land rover one.

The Dorman part is ****e, and after going through 2 of them I went with the Hyundai OEM part. Almost 2 years without a recurrence of a P0440 code.

On my '03 the Dorman 911-800 (Hyundai purge valve) throws a code (forgot the number) with a description of "Incorrect purge flow."

This Dorman part is supposed to cross reference to 28910-22040, and there are several auto parts websites that seem to support this fact. The LR part number of WTV100140A also seems to cross references to the Hyundai part.

Any idea what's happening here?

Thanks for the right up, looks like this will be another task once the power steering issue I have is fixed.

Ironically.. I'm on my second Dorman in two years, and it crapped out yesterday. This one lasted about 6 months.
