Went for the Land Rover Experience this weekend - super on the 5 hour ride up, tremendous off-road at the Equinox, and 5 hours home - couldn't be happier!

I am at 12,500 miles on my 2020 P300 D110 S and I have suffered NO issues of significance that were EITHER:
a) not my fault (cracked windshield from a rock strike -- first ever (!): crinkled bodywork off-road; multiple tires blown off-road -- pressing the GY A/T tires too hard -- now upgraded to Nitto hybrid tires; and a couple nasty dings on the underbody armor -- it worked well), OR
b) is not covered by a service / recall note (I have the cloth seats which stain easily and I am waiting for the UK replacement of the seat covers allowance to reach the U.S. -- but this is not really of significance to me, a nit).
I don't do electronics technology, so I have not suffered any of those problems, as many of you have.
The only design flaw I have found is a nit -- the windshield washer fluid drains out when beyond about 25 degrees nose down slope -- so now I carry a refill bottle with me.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, I have NOT gotten stuck off-road -- NOT ONCE -- while spending half my time there. I have used the winch, but only to help others (it worked great). I have recovery boards with me everywhere, but have not needed them (yet).
Off-road, a significant improvement over the LR4. On-road very, very pleasant.
Almost 14 months of ownership, 30,000 miles and change, so I'm one of those crazy, masochistic early adopters. I basically live in this car, for work and play, it's my daily driver and weekend off-road warrior.
Only had minor issues, mostly software related and all of the very mildly annoying variety. Pivi Pro was a mess initially (quite stable now, after a flurry of OTA updates) auto high beams was glitchy (fixed by dealer), noisy A-pillar (fixed by yours truly), Wi-Fi data plan stopped working (fixed by LR Corporate, it's free for now and hopefully forever, lol.) Best Land Rover I've owned so far. Even the original brakes are still going strong. On my LR4 I would be just about ready for my third set of rear brake pads, and that car was nearly trouble free as well after 230k miles. Better engine, transmission, handling, braking, infotainment, comfort (for me and all passengers), ergonomics, capabilities off road and on. It seems to be getting more positive attention now than a year ago from other motorists, despite it being quite a common sight where I live. "How do you like that new Defender? I hear it's great!"
Gas mileage is not much better than my V8 powered LR4 (but the Defender engine is peppier) and cargo space is nothing like the LR4's cavernous trunk, but I knew that going in and it's good enough for my needs. It's a gem of a car that seems to enjoy a steadily growing aftermarket support, it bodes well for its future as a staple in Land Rover's lineup.
I hear ya. My 2011 LR4 left me stranded on the interstate twice in the middle of the night -- a long way from anywhere -- once by blowing out two supply lines for the transmission and once by a hard, symptom-free failure of the fuel pump ECU. I have never been dumped similarly by any other vehicle I owned (mostly Hondas).
Still, I kept the LR4 and appreciate its abilities so much I bought a second one, then the Defender. There is nothing with comparable on-off road ability to either vehicle, for me at least (I am not a Toyota person).
Ok , just saw that your shutdown was from a broken alternator. Once your battery dropped below 11.4 Volts it shuts down everything. An easy fix.
Yes, I had an similar (melted down the main battery cable due to excessive use of the seat heater) issue with my 2016 Evoque -- stranded us outside Washington D.C. for two days waiting for a part to arrive. Still love the vehicle -- hated to sell it to buy the Defender (3 is the max at once according to my better half).

4 months, 8,000 miles (5,500 in maiden trip on and off road, and 2,500 of daily driving duties). Only two issues: over filled AC in first 600 miles (known issue with D90s) and a ghost check engine light that came and went. Really happy with it. Don’t want to jinx it though…

It's all good mate. Sh1te happens. Hopefully this is my quota (for a bit at least).
This thread is for good posts not like the other one I belong in. (The unwanted-ginger-stepchild-thread) I don't want to pollute this one, just wanted to make a little joke.
Maybe I should have skimmed past the thread but my clicking finger wouldn't allow. LOL
To that end.....
I flipping love the new car.
Other than my first car (A 1.0L VW Polo in racing red with a spoiler and a stick on cas cap cover) it's the first vehicle I've owned I've ever been excited about.
Got my MaxTrax ready to mount, a few bits and pieces to mount them and my cargo box.
Ski rack will be going on soon.
Costco is having a Bridgestone sale so Blizzaks 275/55/20's are going on.
Snowy peaks and muddy tracks await in the weeks ahead.
Alternator available in days this side of the Mississippi.
Everything's coming up Millhouse
My other Defender has had no electrical issues so I've also got that going for me.

My 2022 90X has been flawless and an absolute blast to drive. It seems to me JLR has worked out many of the issues that arose on the initial production runs.
