Default 1/18 scale diecast

Found this pretty cool 1/18 scale diecast of the new Defender. Comes in several colors, this is supposed t be Tasman Blue…..close enough I guess. Very nicely made and detailed for a $40 product. It seems to be available from many suppliers and the price is all over the place. I found mine on Walmart.com. Just google 1/18 LR Defender diecast.

There are lots of diecast Defenders out there now. Initially they only had $200+ highly-detailed models. I bought one in Gondwana Stone. There's this guy in Spain who does custom model cars and commissioned a custom model of my Defender. I had the intentions of sending him the Gondwana Stone model for modifications, but we decided it would be easier to buy a new one that was already finished in Pangea Green.

He 3D printed a set of custom wheels, a custom side vent to replace the raised air intake, fully repainted the interior and roof as well accurately recreating the touchscreen, license plate, side marker lights, and stickers on my rear window. I spent WAY more on this commissioned model than I'd like to admit, but it came out incredibly well and currently sits inside a display case on a shelf in my basement.

That’s insane what he did with the interior. The window decals are a nice touch.

That custom model of yours is based off of the Almost Real (brand) one. Those are the main 1/18 and come in the following:
  • Green w/steelies (90/110)
  • Blue w/steelies (90/110)
  • Brown+black (X) with style something or other Grey 5 Spoke 20” (90/110)
  • White with style something or other Grey 5 Spoke 20” (90/110)
  • Black with black wheels and blue calipers (I forgot which ones) (110)
  • 75th Edition (90/110)
  • Camel Trophy (90/110)
Try hovering a magnet around where a nudge bar would mount - you’ll find it sticks because they come with a magnetic roof rack and nudge bar as well as a ladder + side box which just sit on the roof rail. Pretty cool, huh?
I have to admit I am pretty impressed by your custom one ~ those wheels look excellent.

correct, it is the Almost Real one. I have the X in Gondwana Stone (which has red calipers instead of L’Orange/Rush Orange calipers) and this custom one based on the Pangea/Khaki w/the steelies. All of the magnetic accessories for the green one are still in the box because I don’t have the roof rack or the A-frame bar. The model also has the ROW spec retractable tow hitch.

That model looks amazing! I'd love to commission a couple of custom models, but don't have Instagram. Is there an alternate contact method?

I bought a 1/64th Diecast of the 110 V8 Carpathian Edition. I would love to find a Carpathian Edition in 1/18th.

I just ordered a 1/18 scale model of my Trophy. Looks good online! Adding the license plate from photo was a nice touch.
Will look cool on the desk….
Purchased at livecarmodel.com if anyone wants to browse their catalog.

I've purchased through them before. Great customer service, but every time it took over a month for things to be shipped out. I know they drop ship most items, which is why it may take a long time. Well worth it, though!
