Default 2 Steel Wheeled Unicorns Together - Base Defender and Bronco

Took the Defender on a road trip to get some miles on her, saw my first base Bronco 4 door in the wild. Decided to see how my coil-sprung P300 stacks up:

Looks like the Bronco has room for much larger tires, even in stock guise.

head over to bronco6g, people have been fitting up to 35s on the base bronco (not on those narrow 16 steelies for the biggest) with no lift. At least for street use, i imagine you’d need a 2 inch spacer lift to not rub offroad

Here’s my 110 S nose to nose with my Black Diamond Bronco. Both bone stock, defender at access height

Looks a bit like an episode of a MASH remake, right?

There is a profound sadness to base Broncos with the minivan-spec tires. Even the most basic Defender gets the look right. Also, Bronco detailing is super cheesy in comparison. Don't get me wrong, I actually like the Bronco but it just seems like it is 10% too expensive across the board. They just put up the new Everglades trim on the build & price and it starts at $53K. And that one is 4-cylinder ONLY.

We drove it through a sleet storm on 100 miles of very winding icy narrow roads. Mind you, this was my 16yo who hasn't ever driven on ice and they were actually grippy as hell.

There was no way I was buying him a Squatch.
