2020 110 HSE-Persistent Interior Creaking Sound
Well...I approach my whit's end. 7000 miles. In August, after a trip to the dealer, and on a 106 degree day, a loud, noticeable creaking sound started to take over the cabin. It almost sounds like a moderate rain hitting the car---save for the fact that there is no rain. The sound was hit or miss for a while, and is now there all the time at speeds under 35mph. I've had the wife drive the car, and I've sat in all the seats to see where the noise is coming from. It seems to come from the tops of the doors on all sides and could even be described as sound like a crinkling sound. Interestingly, I applied pressure to the black molded pieces on the rear passenger windows...and it stopped back there. Of all pathetic things, I took an expandable shower rod and put it up across the back seat...applying pressure evenly to those areas...and the sound was reduced quite a bit. Not that you want to drive around an $80k car with a shower rod in it...
Sound has now gotten worse along front doors. There seems to be some odd interaction between the rubber gaskets in the door that might be making the noise. If I press on the top of the window or black trim from the outside, the car makes the same creaking/crinkling/squishing noise. I've applied a high end dressing to the rubber everywhere...and it might have helped a touch, but not much at all. For now driving around sounds like a squeak box, and like the inside is going to fall part.
Any thoughts? THANKS!

I believe the only way to get rid of it, is to have the interior (specially the doors) being professionally sound isolated by the specialist.

Thanks so much. Refreshing to know someone else is dealing with it (I guess). This is a new one for me--where does one go for professional sound insulation? Hard to believe that would be required for a car like of this price tag. I can live with all the usual LR bits and baubles, but this one really bugs me!

It's hard to know whether there is a single or multiple causes with different vehicles. On mine it is clearly originating between the top (outermost) rubber seal on the doors and the edge of the door. Pressing on the top of the door from outside replicates it, and even a very thin smear of silicone lubricant between the edge of the door and that rubber seal almost completely silences it.
