I was thinking of telling them, I may consider taking the stock one off your hands if they can discount it lower than what I ordered. My only reservation is that it’s a 2020, though it’s a late model, wondering what the factory corrected for that 2021 year? I am assuming things issues were adjusted for 2021. Just a thought to get some ideas......I have the mindset now to just wait, but it’s always fun to try to dangle the carrot.
8k drop is steep. You can probably get 4-5k. I'm waiting for 2021s and my companies corporate discount to update. Defender wasn't part of discount in its first year. Hoping 2021 is. Our discount allows for 10% off discovery and discovery sports and 5% off all RR model lines. Seeing as the defender comes in around disco price area, I'm hoping we get the 10%.

... and "Robustec" fabric. They are not full leather seats anymore, not since they stopped making the 2020 HSE. I am sure it was a calculated decision (to highlight the "rough and tumble" image of the Defender and give Range Rover and Disco5 owners some bragging rights), but on an $80K+ vehicle one should be able to spec full leather seats, at least as an option.

thr part that isn’t leather is hardly noticeable. The sides of the bolsters and the seat backs. I came from an SV autobiography and the quality of the leather surfaces is similar. What’s different is the lack of quilting and other coach work but that is consummate to the more rugged persona of the defender.

I am wondering if having the Robustec in the high wear spots is smart though?

Any idea how big of a difference in the grained leather/robustec in the X Dynamic SE vs the Windsor/Robustec in the X Dynamic HSE? I have been going back and forth between those two model options and the seating seems to be the primary plug for the cost increase?

I can only speak from experience with my previous rides (a RRS HSE with black seats and a LR4 HSE Lux with Arabica seats, similar to the khaki seats in my new Defender), both of which also came with full Windsor leather seats, and looked almost as good as new - with virtually zero visible wear - after sitting on them for 208k and 220k miles, respectively. Really great quality leather, soft and supple yet nearly impervious to wear, and I wasn't the type who would use conditioners on it every few thousand miles... I wiped them from dust and dirt at every wash, that's about it.

The grained leather was a whole different feel by comparison, but it's a matter of preference I guess. Some may prefer the rougher, less "slippery" surface, actually. I also can't speak for the durability of the grained leather or the Robustec fabric, but I do read quite a few complaints from First Edition Defender owners that the fabric portion surrounding the leather appears to be prone to discoloration and/or traps dirt quickly.

I just went with the SE tonight as I could not justify the price different for the Windsor leather. Delivery is scheduled for 4/9. Excited to join the group!
