2022 Defender orders taking place now
#531
Last week I commented that my build was pushed back six weeks. With that delay the last date to change was moved to today. At the end of last week I tried to make some changes since I had that opportunity again. My sales rep is pretty bad at getting back to me. After four messages left for him he finally got back to me today and told me that since he last communicated with me last week, the build date got moved up three weeks and that the cut off date for changes also moved up three weeks. So good news bad news...its now a net 3 weeks late from the original time frame but I didnt get to make the changes...not really that big of a deal I suppose.

Congrats to all, mine arrived on the lot yesterday too. I stopped by the dealership this morning for a look. Still has the wrap on it. It's a 2022 90 s p300 carpathian with white roof and white steelies. A sticker on the windshield said NITRA on it, awesome. Also looked like someone actually drew a spiderweb at the upper corner edge of the wrap on the hood, made me smile.
I was able to climb inside to inspect things. First thing I noticed is this khaki is a very light shade of khaki, keep that in mind when ordering, second thing is full leather seats, pretty cool ! So I guess whomever said there was some sort of recall on the partial woven fabric or a shortage I forgot which, you must be correct. Partial woven fabric was nice IMO, but full leather now, hey I'm not complaining. lol
They did put what appeared to be the white finisher on the interior though, I had chosen the default ebony. So the defender embossed area on the passenger-side dash is white. I think most people do chose that from what I can tell if they go khaki interior say with the pangea exterior and white roof they choose the white finisher. It's fine, it looks cool, it's also on the steering wheel, I went back and forth on that one in the configurator so flip a coin, at least I didn't pay the extra $200 for it.
Everything else looked to be as ordered. I'm scheduled to do the paperwork and take delivery next week on the 30th.

Arrival
So nearly three weeks earlier than originally quoted for delivery and only 4 days after arrival in Brunswick, my Defender was dropped off last night at my dealer here in Little Rock, AR. Even took my sales associate by surprise!
Will leave with them over the weekend for accessory install, etc and take delivery Monday!
BTW, if anyone is in the area or interested, I can highly recommend my sales rep, Matt Ingram, at Land Rover Little Rock. He was very careful and detailed in the ordering process, humored me with an update every time I obsessively asked and whether it was just luck or not, delivered the vehicle nearly a month earlier than Vista had originally promised.
Awaiting wheel arch extensions, ladder and roof rack!

Mine has been in Brunswick since 6/14 and I'm getting no answers from my dealer. Land Rover US confirmed that mine does not have any recalls. Getting frustrated.

Awesome. Ive been growing pretty frustrated with my order that is currently estimated at 8 months from date of order (3.5 still to go) and my dealer is horrendous in following up with me or keeping me updated. Its looking like it will cost me more as my sales rep didnt make changes prior to the last day to make changes and instead offered to have things done at the dealer for 2x the price.

And after dropping by the dealership, I can confirm that at least on my MY22. SE model, the seats were upgraded to ALL leather from what was shown on the order sheet as "leather with robustec". Its really nice! Headed to detail after ladder and wheel arches installed. Roof rack next and pickup Monday. Cheers!
Ladder first, roof rack next. Decided for now not to go with the lunchbox...
Large screen is very responsive and personally I'm digging it!

drcoop, Chief - congrats! I think we were all enduring the wait together. My seats were also full leather -- a very welcome surprise since that was my preference. I've been very happy with the P300 engine -- plenty capable and unbelievable torque for a 4cyl off the line.
