A little ominous of a thread of course, however, we know we’re like flies to the fire online - skews heavily negative. I’ve had my 110 22 (v8) for about two weeks and absolutely adore it. I’m getting some noise in the trunk/cargo area, which has been reported and maybe the dealer will come up with a fix but otherwise leagues beyond what I had ever imagined.

Hey guys….

I’ve had multiple high end cars, SUV’s etc…from Japanese to German and everything in between in my many many years of buying vehicles. I’d say that 75% off the top of my head have had multiple issues from small to major.

British cars have had the stigma of electrical issues and more since my first MG back in the early 70’s.

My latest car prior to my D90 was a build quality nightmare.

It’s a crap shoot. Get the little annoying things fixed and try your best to enjoy it.

British cars had the stigma of Lucas components, to be more specific.

I'm not thrilled with how it looks, I liked the look of our old LR4 better with it's taller windows and spare tire underneath. I am thrilled about how it drives and handles on the road. Equally impressive is it's capability off road in deep soft sand. So far my only issues are the door handle and ignition not "finding" the key fob and the squeaking door and sunroof rubber seals that I easily fixed myself with silicone.

However, no idea why someone that never goes off road would buy a Defender just for it's looks. There are so many better on-road choices for hauling a family such as a Q7, X7 or even a Discovery 5.

I only off road a couple times a year, and certainly drive in parks in a wooded area but again, nothing serous more than a couple times. There is a very large market of folks such as me who are dreamers, and only occasionally meddle in the sand, but have an affinity for the tech and brand equity. Zero interest in the ubiquitous Audis, haha, although I see them everywhere.

"All this money" is relative. What the hell else am I going to do with it anyway?

If I have to drive something else when it breaks, so be it. If that's going to be a problem, consider a Toyota.

Don't feed the troll.. That particular idiot keeps crapping over the Defender on this forum. Doesn't have one, and you can safely disregard his posts/put him on ignore.

Agree, please stay on the D1 forum where you belong. Here's a link if you can't find your way on your own:
