2023 Models without Softclose Door and Fan Control ?
Hello everyone, I heard from a dealer that the 2023 models omitted the soft close function on the trunk door and also the control of the ventilation in the trunk for the third row seats.
Can anyone confirm this with a 2023 model?
Has anything else changed noticeably?

I've also read that the sunglasses holder in the roof console has been replaced with a blank cover, and have seen that the aluminum ends on the two steering wheel stalks have been replaced with black plastic. (The buttons at the tips are still aluminum, but the 'collars' that adjust the lights and wipers are now plastic).
I understand the chip shortage issue, but this is straight-up cost cutting. Pretty lame that my base model '22 has useful and shiny bits that top-of-the-line '23s do not.

I was big into Miatas back in the days of the first generation NA. I bought a new 94, first year the engine went from 1.6 to 1.8. The next year my best friend bought a new 95. Both where base models with only AC; crank windows, manual door locks, etc. So I was surprised to see crappy little cost-cutting measures like you’re talking about in the otherwise identical cars. The jewel-like, elegant folding split visors that visually tucked perfectly into the thin windshield header became conventional full-size ones that hung down below. The real oil pressure gauge became an OPG-shaped idiot light, effectively; it no longer read analog oil pressure, just “0” or something about midway on the gauge. It was a digital “okay/not-okay” indicator like an idiot light but instead of a little red bulb it had a hand that jumped from 0 to 60% or so. I don’t remember the rest but every one was small and everyone was cheaper than the 94 had been.

It certainly is. I will be getting into the dealer to see what is happening. I know it is not all about chips. Ukraine manufactures a lot of vehicle parts and this part of the supply chain is being seriously disrupted. Maybe the sunglasses stowage is normally supplied from Ukraine.
