I have rear soft close and all of the other dodads (mid 2020 p400)

I dont value that equipment enough to put up with 10-12 month delays.

Contrary to many of you, i would prefer less tech on this offroad focused truck. There will be less to go wrong.

crank windows for the win.

I would say that soft close on the rear door is... basically useless and non functional anyways.

Sure, It's useful on side doors on other RR's etc, but this rear door is so heavy, even if I push it shut with a feather touch, most of the time it shuts properly. I have to actually *try* to get soft close to engage.

For example, I get the dogs out, and while I'm holding leashes of the beasts, I push the door shut very lightly... it just clunks shut. I have to actually stop it and breathe on it to get soft close to engage.

Very unlike my D2 which could benefit from soft close rear door haha. So I wouldn't worry about missing out on this... it's utterly useless.

The supply chain "disasters" are JLRs and JLRs alone, not the customers. And with no real transparency into the supply chain issues who knows. To hold an expectations that it's acceptable to negatively impact the customer without sharing any of the impact or responsibility seems at best a poor business decision.

Most if not all auto manufactures are having challenges with their supply chains. The good ones are ensuring they're treating their customers as valued and partnering in an equitable manner.

Oh and on the configurator today Defender 110 S = "11.4" Touchscreen" - Just saying

Generally, our strategy is to add features and content while maintaining competitive price levels with each passing year. This has been the approach in recent years, and in the case of certain models like the Jaguar XF we've cut prices dramatically while boosting standard equipment. We are even considering standardizing towing packages on all D7u/x platforms. However, the supply chain disaster and limited production have forced us to make odd and uneven decisions on random parts of the vehicle.

If we sent a notice to our customers saying production of their Defender will be delayed 8-10 months because we are missing a soft close latch motor (or other minor feature) that would not go over well.

We're an extremely customer oriented company and regularly hold meetings to address customer concerns. In fact, senior executives recently travelled to the US market just to sit down and meet with new Defender owners and ask for feedback and ideas for improvement. However, sometimes we have to do the best we can and continue moving forward even if things aren't ideal.

Arguably, as Defender is a utilitarian vehicle you could make the case that soft close latches have no place on it, but that's a separate discussion.

The soft close is a great feature. i discovered it existed after about a week of ownership. It's a very rattly door-close without it.

The third row fan was never a standard.

this was a surprise to me after I ordered my 2023 110s. No 11.3 and no interactive driver display.

Hi @The Insider , thanks for your contributions here. Are there any other features for the 2023 MY that are being excluded from builds for similar purposes? Soft door close doesn't seem like a deal breaker, but wasn't sure if anything else may be on the list. Thanks!

I find out that in the 2nd Row are „only“ two USB-C connecters under the climate control panel. The other 2 connecters are just closed.

No accessory ports/chargers on the back of drivers/passenger seats. Also I can’t adjust the rear seats. On my V-8 110. Seems like the backseats were able to slide and recline in videos I’ve seen. But 🤷‍♂️

@Brushdaily The click & go bases were discontinued in the 23MY specification and the back seat adjustment only applies to 7 seat variants
