How is it they can get the parts but JLR can't? Smells fishy

I have a turn signal stalk with the silver movable adjustments for sale. It doesn't have the front fog light functionality.

[QUOTE=shepl;821024]Hello everyone, I heard from a dealer that the 2023 models omitted the soft close function on the trunk door and also the control of the ventilation in the trunk for the third row seats.

Can anyone confirm this with a 2023 model?
Has anything else changed noticeably?[/QUOTE

just got my 110 carpathian edition , I have the controls for ventilation in trunk but no soft close

Yes, that seems to be the consensus:

Missing:
1. Soft close
2. Clear site (? Seems inconsistent)
3. Metal stalk ends
4. Sunglasses holder

I have to fairly say .... I see no effective purpose for it to be included on the Defender. NONE.

Really you are not missing anything I can figure out by not having this on your Defender -- other than NOT waking a sleeping baby in the rear row of seats (?). Even then, the door can close quietly enough by manually being gentle.

---------------------------

Of course, my nagging complaint showed itself this weekend. I was off - road (in LO range, of course) and had cleared a particularly threating set of rock with the front wheels and wanted to open the door to make sure I placed the rear left tire (US driver's side) properly -- AND OF COURSE I COULD NOT DO IT because of the nanny interlock on the vehicle. There is no camera to help in this situation !!

PLEASE UPGRADE THE SOFTWARE TO DISABLE THE NANNY DRIVER'S DOOR INTERLOCK WHILE IN LO RANGE (below 10 mph).

Enjoy !!
This is the funniest thread... seriously I'm in stitches..I have the soft-close...I wouldn't miss it if it stopped working.

On a serious note though - as TrioLROwner articulated, this nanny park is a real problem off road. Imagine being on a very steep incline and having to get out of your vehicle to check your line or set up the winch. Once you open the door and take your foot off the brake (even if the EPB is on or HOLD in place) the bloody transmission shifts into park! I've simulated this from drive, reverse and neutral - same result. How on earth are you going to release the locking pin from the transmission when you need to reverse or keep going forward??? Do we need to get out the passenger side in this situation?

It's just odd when random things come and go - to me, I'd just make sure the site builder is consistent with what can be ordered. BMW does this well.

Also (what I've heard):
5. USB chargers in rear seating area
6. USB chargers on passenger dash
7. 2nd Key Fob
8. Larger PiviPro in some trims

Don't say that, @markjlr !! I've seen the magic you can do. I'm VERY optimistic you can retro the sunroof, too.....

Its not that you cant retrofit stuff, its the fact that everyone is spending 70k+ and shouldn't have to.
I think JLR is cheapening out.
