Wow....
The S still has the 11 speaker, 400w system while the X-D SE and above come with the 15 speaker, 700w Meridian Surround system. They changed the amplifiers when Defender came out. Base Meridian got a slight output boost while the Surround got a lower output. The standard Meridian is still quite good despite the lack of a center channel. Highs are crystal clear and the bass response is excellent. The midrange is the weakest point IMO. The previous 825w system in my old D5 was superior to every Meridian system JLR offers today with the exception of the Meridian Signature system in the L460 RR. Also sucks that they removed the Dolby Pro Logic IIx and DTS Neo: 6 from the surround options. Now you only get Meridian Trifield, which was the best IMO, but it was nice to have options. I'm in a 2024 Evoque loaner right now with the Meridian Surround and there's not much difference with surround on or off, as they still use the center channel when surround is switched off. The definition of stereo is two channels, and shouldn't include the center channel, as that technically makes it a surround sound setup 100% of the time.

This is one of the main reasons I'm trading in our 2023 and ordering a 2025 to replace it. The 700 watt in our 2021 sounds so much better. Plus a few other chip shortage issues that our 2023 has such as the unavailable clear sight rearview mirror, USB ports and approaching bike/person warning system.

Are they bringing back the approaching bike/person warning system in the 2025's?

Good question...I just assumed it was a chip shortage issue since our 2021 has it.

What system is "bike/pedestrian"?

The thing where when you open the side doors in traffic? Or the collision alert in front of the car? Or something else?

Probably just a terminology question. Curious if mine has it.

I sure hope my MY24 D110X will have it, but I doubt it will.

I getting ready to pull the trigger on ordering one tomorrow and I’m a bit nervous. I currently have a ‘16 Range Rover Sport.

this is my current build at MSRP. https://build.landrover/C0D31E01

Any concerns about the P300? I hate car dealers and that’s what I’m most concerned with that they just screw ya.

Nice build. you have all the options I selected and same color scheme. Only differences are I did the X dynamic so I could get extended black and I did the Heads up Display and the fridge.
