If in no rush, wait for the Octa release. The bigger engine sounds like you, and IMO the Octa is sounding an awful lot like a new trim level; not a SVO one-time production model (as is common for RR when they do limited production builds). It may take a bit, but a 130 Octa may be something you can eventually order...

I haven't heard anything about the BMW V8 going into 2025. My 2024 CE 110 should arrive next month. I actually wanted to get the vehicle before the British V8 was gone. From talking to a few long-term LR collectors, the V8 from LR will hold value over the new units with the BMW V8. This will be my 2nd car with this motor and it has so much character over the German unit in my opinion.

I placed an order for a 2024. They showed me the screen that said vehicles built after May 18,, 2024 Eiger Grey is no longer available. (I don't remember the exact day, but it's in May). There was another color as well, I think Hakuba Silver but I don't remember for sure.

They more than likely did configure an allocated 2024 model for my specs, that's why I had a week and a half before my no changes date. I don't care that it's a 2024. I was bummed because the build date is 07 June 2024 which is past the cutoff date for Eiger Grey.

100% agree with this. I had the NA version of the AJ133 5.0 in my old LR4 and the engine does have so much character. The BMW V8 is completely soulless. Super quiet and refined, but it lacks the fun factor, sound and response of the supercharged 5.0. Plus the 4.4 BMW V8 is known for having a ton of problems; more so than the AJ133.

Agree, loved the V8's in our LR4's. But annoying how both of ours developed a valve cover gasket leak that dripped oil directly into the alternator. Then the alternator fails, the dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree and you have about 20 miles of battery power left to get somewhere. And hopefully they replaced the plastic coolant lines that dry out and crumble with metal coolant lines. There are so many LR4's for sale that need a $12K engine because of these coolant lines failing and seizing the engine.

They should have just bumped the AJ V8 to 575 and called it a day.

I’d be good with that, MUCH prefer superchargers to turbos any day. I have 120k miles on my 5.0 XFR, zero issues and great engine.

Unfortunately the AJ V8 does not meet the upcoming European emission standards and therefore needed to be discontinued. Hence the switch to the BMW V8. A development of a new engine was economically not viable as internal combustion engines are no longer allowed in Europe after 2035.

I will miss the supercharged V8 as well. It has so much more character than the BMW V8. It feels aggressive at every speed.

I was really bummed I couldn’t order Eiger Grey. I ended up ordering Silicon Silver. I was aware of Hakuba Silver, but didn’t know Tasman Blue was going as well. Seems like they’re really changing up the colors for 2025.
