Default Is 22” wheel to 20” wheel swap possible on X without mods?

I’m considering a 2022 Defender 110 X. It has the 5098 22” wheels from the factory. Can anyone confirm that I can swap these for the 5095 20” wheels without brake mods? I’m getting conflicting answers.

this claims it fits https://parts.landroverparamus.com/o...r133250?c=az0x

aren't all the 20's the same offset? the 5095 is also the default wheel in the configurator for the X.

if you are using oem 20 inch defender wheels there shouldn’t be a problem. i have a p400 hse that came with 20’s. the X is basically the same car with some nicer bits here and there

usually going down to a 18 inch wheel is where you need to change the rear caliper

I've had two dealers say they haven't performed the swap, but they think the brake calipers will rub. They are saying the brakes that come with the 22s from the factory may be different on the X.

I thought the 20 inch wheel was standard for the Defender X and the 22 inch wheel was an option?

Yes, the 22" are optional. I don't want them, but that is how the X was ordered.

The only change that I am aware of are the size of brakes from the p300 to p400 engines. So you would need to do some modification to get down to 18 inch wheels on the X, but not 20 or 19.

I have a '22 X with 20" wheels. There should be no problem in swapping them. The brake calipers only change going from the P300 to P400.

I also swapped my factory 22’s for 20” Redbourne Alstons and BFG KO’s. No mods required. There is a tiny bit of rubbing at very low speed maneuvering, but that’s the price to pay for the bigger tires.
