42k service details?
Sorry guys, car is in shop so I can't look at owner's manual, and there nothing online...which I was surprised about.
My defender went in to finally/hopefully have the coolant leak fixed under warranty. My wife dropped it off - they also tried to casually include the 42k service in the signature approval. It says $1822 for the service.
My 21k service only cost me $800..... I'm in a different state (California now, as opposed to Florida previously) but what the heck is all included on the 42k service that would make it $1822?
Dealer does have a $299/hr labor charge here in Marin County when I was paying like $125 in Florida I think?
Thank you in advance for your input

Welcome to one of the most expensive counties in the US. LR dealers in the Bay Area are super $$$. I use an indie shop - 11th Street Auto Repair in SF. They are great. I'm sure there are others in Marin.
If you input your VIN here, you will get a personalized service menu: https://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com
Some screenshots are below for 2.0 and 3.0 L engines.
Replacing the engine air filter on the 3.0 L (P400) is the only difference I can see.

This is the link I use to access the owners manual, especially when I’m sitting on my couch and don’t feel like going out to the vehicle and getting it out of the glove box.

Also, if you have the Land Rover Remote app installed on your phone, if you click on ‘MORE’ , then ‘LAND ROVER DIGITAL HANDBOOK’, it will take you the the same link as noted above.

Wow.....$299 per hour. Nearly $2,000 for what's effectively a basic service.
Have you tried an independent garage? So long as they are reputable it won't affect your warranty.
My local independent quoted me the U.K. equivalent of $500 including parts and labour to do this service.

I've been going to 11th Street Auto for 11 years now. First on my 2008 LR3 (which now lives in the Austin TX area), and now for my 2021 Defender 110. Peter and Jack are the absolute best. They only work on Land Rovers (no Jaguar, just LR) at a reasonable price with service that's better than dealer.
I remember when my alternator went out on the LR3 while I was driving it, and I called them at 7pm on a Friday. They picked up, and not only committed to helping me out the next day, but instructed me on how to park the car so that a tow truck could pick it up easily from the Presidio area and take it down to SoMa ("When you turn it off, that's where it will stay until the tow arrives." )
Other than warranty service, you couldn't pay me to take my LRs to a dealership. For anything I can't do myself, I only trust 11th street auto.
