May be a silly question here, but is the OEM rack from a 2023 Defender 90 the same thing as the OEM one for the 110, just shorter?

Basically asking if I can put the OEM 90 roof rack on my 110...

Yes it is shorter, and I do not see why you could not mount it on a 110. I have not seen a shorter OEM rack on a 110, but I think it would look odd in my opinion. Please post pictures if you do mount it.

 

110 has 6 feet on the rack. 90 has 4.

The distance between the feet receivers in the racks are different.

I don't see any way one will fit the other.

The feet are very precisely machined to fit only one spot on the 110. I presume the same is true on the 90.

 

In that case, you are not going to be able to install it if the distance between the feet do not match the points on your roof.

 

You can get an OEM style rack from Alibaba for roughly $1k delivered to your door. Mine is a knockoff and it's identical to factory other than the color which is 100% black instead of having the factory silver bars.

The front to back difference in taper between a 90 and a 110 is what I'd be concerned about. The back feet might be the same, but the front feet on the short rack may not land in the same spot as on the 110 due to the tape of the roof rails. They are narrower on one end compared to the other.

If you're looking for a cheap alternative to the factory rack I'd hit up Alibaba. It's only cheaper in price, not quality.

 

I think the ones you buy on Alibaba are from the same manufacturer as most of LR OEM accessories are made in China.

 

Does anyone know if a 110 roof rack OEM, will fit on a 130? Looking for a definitive answer, please. Recognizing it will be shorter, but I have the opportunity to buy a used one deeply discounted.
