I am wondering if anyone has had the same issue that I am currently experiencing. I will have a p300 without rear climate control. I will have the front on 66-68 degrees and the air coming out of the front will be cold but the air coming from the rear is 80+ degrees. I have taken it to the dealer many times and they confirm the issue and reset the module and it works for a few days then it happens again. This weekend I had a full car for an hour plus trip and couldn't have the air on because the people in the back would be sweating.

Hoping someone here has experienced this so that I can get some direction on what the fix was.

 

There is a procedure for testing but you might not like how it starts with "you're crazy".



Here's the rest. Shop manual has about 100 pages dedicated to this but this is the test.

 

Thanks @allegedly ! I have basically run the above test on my own and with land rover having sat in their shop and shown the temp differences between the two. They just keep resetting the software which works for a little then fails again. This will be the 5th time I have taken the car to them for this so just hoping for something permanent this time.

 

Got the car back and the issue continues... Bought a temp gun so I can prove to the dealers.

How crazy is this?? No rear climate control and with the AC set on 68 I get 68 out of the front and 140 from the rear!?

 

lf the dealer keeps resetting the software and it works for a short time then l would be asking them to replace the HVAC module.

The vehicle is clearly capable of sending cold air to the rear, because it works after the software is reset.

The fact that it works for a few days is strange. l would go with demanding that the HVAC module is replaced.

 

You have a p300 with a 11 inch screen?? boss.... For someone with a new defender on order these are the threads I need to stay away from.. Your issue sounds totally bizarre and I agree with "lightening" that you should request a new HVAC module. I'm wondering if you think having a the rear climate control would negate this issue?

 

The shop manual is pretty straight forward on that. They are supposed to open a case with LR to get proper diagnosis and repair. If you need the shop manual to show them, it's here.

Thank you! I appreciate that. They apparently replaced some parts in the HVAC system the last time they had it and thought that fixed its. Will check out the manual and see what they say Monday.

 

Ya I was a lucky one during 22 when you could still get everything delivered.

I will say I have had some strange issues with the car but really do love it. It takes me anywhere I want to go without issue and with a smile on my face . That doesn't make this less annoying though
