Want to add the center console fridge. Only one I found on eBay is $1200. Any other cheaper options out there?

 

Is it factory or after market? Also try this go to car-part.com and input your vehicle information and it will show a list of vendors all over the country that sell that part. That is how I got a front headlight for my defender after a rock took it out. Parts are used but most companies warranty it that it works. Just an idea.

 

car-part.com is good, but with one is hard to search on that site. They don't have a drop down for "fridge, refrigerator, cooler, etc..."

I keep searching forums and ebay and hoping alibaba will have a retro fit. It's the one novelty thing that got booted from my build once the factory accepted the order. It's a gimmick, but I wanted it as well.

 

Hunters Prestige has one for $1031.00. Not much lower but likely more reliable than eBay.

I love mine keeps 4 bottles of water cool or cold at all times.

 

Its an expensive piece of hardware - I've never seen any LR center console fridge for under a grand when I thought about retrofitting one on my old D5. I have it in my Defender and I love it, it gets down to about 35° F. A friend of mine who runs an indy shop had a customer with a '19 L494 who had a bad compressor for the fridge and asked me if I could get him a replacement compressor, as my family owns a freezer manufacturing company. Unfortunately, the Secop (Danfoss) compressor that JLR uses isn't available in the US. Just an FYI in case anyone tries to relace a bad compressor for the fridge. You'd have to buy an entirely new console.

 

The fridge is found on ebay for less than 400 dollars. Most of the newer fridges for most models fits in the defender. I retrofitted a velar fridge for my defender. There is one plastic cross bar that is revealed after you take to the top cover off. You dremel that cross bar and most of the fridges will drop in plug and play with a tap of the cigarette lighter outlets in the back of the console.

 

I thought I read somewhere you have a swap out the center console - but Mark I guess you’re right - you can just cut it instead.
