Just a little service annoucement. Garret and I have spent about 200 hours learning how to program these vehicles. Weve both had people demand discounts saying that $1000 is too much money for features I can guarantee you the dealerships will never ever activate. If the dealership would turn on these features it destroys the entire dealership and JLR business model of getting you to upgrade and buy a new vehicle to get the new features. So $1000 is a very fair price to get what newer vehicles have with cutting edge technology.

What is also interesting are defender owners who go to independent shops and have them contact us wanting to do activations for free. If your shop will venmo me $1000 then I'm happy to do the activations as long as they have the $3,000 to $5,000 in tools needed to do the activations and no we wont share our secret sauce, we will try the activations over the air with no guarantees and no refunds.

Activations available - hardware needed only, software updates:
1. Free for life wifi hotspot.
2. Last user mode disables stop start on p300 defenders permanetly on or off with the simple touch of a button even after ignition cycles.
3. Adaptive cruise control with que assist including full stop and go.
4. Adaptive speed limiter.
5. Adaptive high beams with configurable settings.
6. Advanced off road package.
7. All terrain prgress control & configurable terrain response!
8. On demand center locking differential with the touch of a button.
9. Global window close from your key fob.
10. Global window open from your key fob.
11. Sunroof open from your key fob.
12. Sunroof close from your key fob.
13. Tailgate pop open from your key fob.
14. Bright Lights/High beams on with your fog lights on. (Not allowed in North America buyt we do it)
15A. Configurable dynamic mode (Even the V8 and/or 007 Defenders dont have this!)
15B. Proximity locking & unlocking works on some model years.
16. Dynamic mode- controls throttle, suspension, steering, braking settings.
17. Timers and G force meters on the navigation system.
18. DAB radio and XM radio activation. (Needs a subscription eventually.)
19. Engine noise cancellation.
20 Engine sounds through the speakers disabled.
21. Cell Phone signal boosting.
22. Advanced Tow assist.
23. Activity Key as long as you have the correct MHZ frequency key.
24. Needs hardware! Adding center console fridge freezer.
25. Needs professional installation and wiring then we can activate the rear differential as an oem add on after the fact. Yes fully OEM with the advanced off road pack after you buy the oem parts and have them professionally installed we can activate the differential to be fully oem integrated.
26. 12.3 inch Navigation center console upgraded AFTER you buy and have installed the 12.3 inch screen we can activate it.

No discounts for just one feature, $1,000 and you need to visit us in Los Angeles or have someone with the $5,000 tools and software and no guarntees it will work over the air and its still $1,000.

You get what you pay for in life, and nothing in life is free. Your welcome to pay another $60,000 to $120,000 and buy a new 2023 or 2024 with some of these features included, but not all of them. Cheers.

what are the engine noises through the speakers (19,20)? I didnt know that the car did this..

 

Engine noise cancellation is a hidden feature not turned on our defenders.
Engine noise through speakers is a feature on all North American p400 6 cylinder defenders and we can disable that feature.

If your next question is why does JLR have those features? I dont know, and couldnt speculate. I just know what we can do with them...

 

I think it’s a valuable service. My V-8 is pretty well stocked so $1000 for just a few of those features makes it a no go for now. Even if your original post makes you seems like a total jerk I would still give you a call if you end up changing your pricing structure.

 

Well unfortunately you have to understand that we think people who demand these services for free over the past couple of weeks are the real jerks. Lol. But it's all good. We only want customers who believe our service brings value to them and if you don't like our pricing we respect that and it all good. So far this year I've done 35 vehicles so I'm very happy with my investment in learning how to do this. Cheers.

 

im totally interested and had similar work done in my RS6 (similar being software upgrades turning in amazing features- but it was able to be done remotely with a PC and a special cable- the guy logged into the PC and did it all). I’m just on the east coast.

if you want to franchise it so you can have access to the east cost DM. It would be interesting to explore.

I would be interested as well and I’m on east coast (NJ). If folks are pooling to bring Mark here to get this I will be down.

 

If $1k buys the end user everything on the list, the price is a no brainer. People on this forum are upgrading wheels/tires, adding racks & ladders & winches & sliders, wrapping their trucks in ppf, etc... $1k for all of those items seems like a bargain 🤷🏻

 

Happy to orchestrate this. If I understand (Mark correct me) we need minimum of 5 customers @ $1k each, business class direct flight, hotel accommodations, common area for the work.
