Just means more hassle if you ever need to change the side steps or remove the brackets.
So when installing, you just used 1 front and 1 rear bracket? If that holds up well that’s a big help.

l have the 90. The side steps only have one front and one rear bracket.

l don't know about the 110. Does that have four brackets on each side step? l wouldn't leave any brackets off. With mine l installed both brackets but l didn't bother with the smaller bolts that go into the side of the bracket.
This means you don't have to remove all the trim to install them.

They were a non-descript Chinese brand...I think they were about $350 for a 110. I wanted silver steps because our LB 110 has silver 22" wheels and they look great! Pretty sure they are all the same with different distributors. Came pretty quickly as well.

So I got a set of these for my 90 with horrible instructions. Same style as @ebr in Post #21. The tube on one side of the step area is slightly (about 1.5 inches) longer than the other side.
I can't tell which way these should be oriented (long tube towards the front or back). Both ways look fine to me. Is there a correct orientation or does it even matter?

The official installation is longer tube to the rear, but l installed them the other way round because then the steps are central with the door.

l don't think it actually matters unless somebody knows something l don't.

I think mine had markings on them or maybe I just followed the OEM instructions. It probably doesn't matter much except that, the way I have them makes the step useful for both front and getting in the back. These are hugely helpful getting in the back since there is really nowhere to put your foot without them.

My hardware was missing a spacer that was supposed to be there but I just left a bit of that underside material around the hole that was supposed to have a spacer and it appears to have worked out fine.

I have researched sidesteps for new defender 90. In Australia there is Epic Off Road. My question to them was where are the sidesteps they supply manufactured. Response- China by the same factory that supplies PowerfulUK, Hunter Prestige and Vulkan. I have ordered the ones from sidesteps uk but through mm 4x4 as they don't require removal of trim, they are made in the UK are made of steel and they will support 300kg

Great info. I just contacted them to see if they have a US distributor. Unfortunately... they do not. They are going to give me a US shipping estimate. I was set on Vulkan and I'm really happy you posted this info. Just hoping the shipping isn't the same cost as the sidesteps!

You don't have to remove the trim on the LR OE or copy side steps
Just leave out the smaller side bolts in the brackets, they're not necessary.
