Aftermarket wheels
Hi my new First Edition is coming in a few weeks. I want to put aftermarket wheels on as i don't particularly like the base wheels the FE comes with in the UK. I am interested in Redbourne Morland wheels, 20 X 8.5 to match the FE standard wheels. Anyone have any experience of Redbourne Wheels on the new defender? Pictures below show the Redbourne Morland wheels Thanks

I don't have any experience with them, but they are made by TSW and I do have experience with those. Very high quality and well made for an inexpensive wheel. I tired to get Redbourne wheels for our FE here in the states, but they were on backorder and had no idea when they would get more. We settled on Fuel Offroad wheels, they only make 3 different wheels to fit this vehicle. We chose the Assault. Very happy with them, and they are hub centric so no worries there.

I ended up ordering a set of Vossen HF-5’s earlier this week. they have a 35mm offset. I feel safer with that offset and also like the styling, build quality and gloss black finish better on my 110X.

Glad you bought this up John, as I’m of the same opinion, and unsure as to which way to go. The current vehicle is Indus Silver with the silver 20’s, but my new one due in March is Gondwana, so the Black would go either way. Would be interested to follow and hear which way you go in the end.....I’ve always been a sheep lol 😆

Are the Vossen HF-5s plug and play for a stock 110X if I get them with proper 275/55r20 tires?
i considered getting the Moreland as well as the alstons. I didn’t like how the morelands are a “fake” bead lock. Both the Moreland and the alstons share a problem where the taller lip (to accommodate bolts on the Moreland or the machined squares on the Alston) make the center appear too small. Here’s the other issue, I’m running a 33” BFG KO2 (275/60R20). On OEM wheels and the Johnson Rods 1.5” lift they rubbed badly with a 25mm spacer. So here’s the math. OEM offsets are 41.5. Add the 25mm spacer and we know it rubs with a 16.5 offset. The Moreland and Alston have a 25 offset which is only 8.5mm narrower than those spacers. I’m guessing it would rub. I’ve since switched to the Proud Rhino 2” lift and am not sure if some heat gun work and mild trimming of the front mud flaps would solve the problem.
