Default Air Suspension Leak or Normal?

Hello LRF Friends -

New to the site, new to the brand. Defender pulled me into your world, and I'm pumped to be here. QQ regarding air suspension on my '23 S. I've owned for about 25 days now, and somewhere between 8 or 10 times so far my rig raises slightly in the front when I start her up in the morning. Is this normal behavior for air suspension systems? or signs of a potential leak?

- Auto Access Mode disabled, always. I keep it in Normal.
- Slight Downhill Slope (3%) when parked outside my house.
- Pacific Northwest September Climate: 70/80' degrees during the day, 40/50's overnight.

Thanks!

Mine does the same exact thing FYI. Believe it’s normal leveling but others would know better.

Hmm 3% downward slope. Try parking the other way around and see if the back raises?

I have access height enabled but today I put it into off-road mode and parked during lunch, came outside an hour later and it was still in off-road height. That tells me even having access height enabled, what you choose to fiddle with manually can override it, at least for a period of time. You're the opposite case, you say you have access height disabled. I believe you when you say have access height disabled but I'm not sure this behavior means there's any leak. Are you choosing any modes manually or do you leave it in standard height 100% of the time? If it's always in standard height and access is disabled, you never manually put into access height etc, that's probably the only scenario where I might start thinking about a possible leak. I would also suggest double-checking if access height is still disabled because any OTA updates I've done have always blown away my settings and reset to defaults. I haven't bothered to check to see if that's still the case with the latest update but I highly suspect that it is... just an fyi.

Air pressure drops with temperature. Like how you need to add a few pounds to your tires when the weather starts getting cold. You likely park it towards the end of the day after driving for at least a few minutes. Driving will natural warm the suspension up. The end of the day isn't peak temperature, but it's usually considerably warmer than the wee hours of the morning. Some minor dropping overnight is completely normal, and that's not just a LR thing.

Normal, but let me tell you - I went to the dealership with this issue because it happened once or twice while I was driving. They almost said "no issue" and then it happened while they were test driving it, so they replaced the front air shocks. It continued to adjust occasionally (in the morning when starting, rarely when driving) so I took it back. They called someone for more help, did some other testing, and finally gave it back to me and said it was normal behavior and part of the active suspension (but no word about them wasting $2k+ of their money replacing the front air shocks). I've since taken it more than halfway across the country and driven it off-road. No issues, never got worse, and still behaves the same.

D-FENS - thanks for chasing that down and the update

As someone who’s new to operating an air suspension vehicle the nuances are proving interesting and it’s taking me time to sort out ‘what’s normal’. For example doing light off-roading to test our new rig I was actively listening for and heard a few random ‘burps’ over some off-road terrain. Nothing major - just what appeared to be a random burp. I take that to be normal but will be having a casual chat with the our parts and service folks to help me better understand this ‘new normal’ for vehicle operations

Once again thanks for asking the question - others for their feedback here - and posting a followup. ‘Knowledge is Power’ as a buddy of mine likes to say :-D
