Default Another "Stop safely Electrical fault detected" Post

Yesterday I was driving my 2024 110 Defender and on the dash a message appeared that read "Stop safely Electrical fault detected". I recently heard about the DC to DC converter recall and I suspect my issue might be related. That said, I didn't notice any other issues and was able to drive home safely.

This morning I called to make a service appointment and they advised I don't drive in, but it would be best to have the truck towed, so that's what I'm doing.

The truck has 28,XXX on the odometer and luckily hasn't had any engine or electrical issues in my 2+ years of ownership. However, it was in the shop last week to have the driver's side rear door seal fixed and was told they also updated the computer software during that visit. Now I'm curious if that update has something to do with the new error message.

We'll see what happens next but judging from what other members have said I should probably expect my truck to be at the service center for at least a few weeks, which is unfortunate me and the family have a road trip planned in a few weeks. I'll try to post updates as they come in.

What engine do you have? That's usually a charging error. Mostly a 'nothing' - turn off engine. Wait a minute and start and it should go away. If you get it repeatedly then indicates faulty alternator (may be failing)

However - it can also indicate on the P400 the DC-DC converter issue. Which is now a planned Land Rover recall (fix not yet available).

if it doesn't come back then hopefully just a voltage gremlin!

It’s P400. Received an update today and was told the issue is in fact the dc to dc converter. They ordered the replacement part and now it’s a waiting game.

I had the same issue a couple weeks ago. Had my 110 towed to dealers and it seems they did all the work on it within a day or two and replaced the dc dc converter. Thought it was going to take weeks to get fixed but it was quicker than expected. I think they rushed my through because I was complaining about not getting a courtesy vehicle

Fair to assume they had the new converter already in stock?

Update: service advisor called me yesterday to let me know they had the part and my truck was ready for pickup later that day. Pleasantly surprised it was only in the shop for 4 days.

Service guy initially told me it was back ordered and said it could be over a week. I said if that's the case I'll 100% need a vehicle

My MY2025 had the fault pop up 5 days ago and promptly died while driving.
Towed to dealership and diagnosed with a bad DC/DC converter

Luckily they had one in stock. Repaired in 48 hours
