son of a b..... has anyone reached out to jlr? the 3.0l is shared across all of the platforms.... can I check this without major disassembly? mine has always rattled/ticked when cold

 

unfortunately you need to take it apart to find out. The exhaust shields hide it very well

 

This is interesting as this gent (are you here?) says it’s the manifold warping which then breaks the bolts.
Or is the current theory that the bolts break, hich then allows the manifold to warp as it heat cycles?

Ie what do we think the root cause is?
