I have a Defender 110 X and I'm seeing deformed/wavy appearance in the gloss black door trim. It appears that it is being held by double sided tape to the door metal? Anyone else seeing these anomalies?
Mine is the gloss trim as well (on a 110X also). I notice a little waviness in the black glossy areas, but only if I really look at it in the right light from the right angle.
I initially thought that maybe a touchless high pressure car wash was deforming them from too much pressure.
However -- nope. Went to dealer and looked at a new one, same waviness. No better or worse than mine (which is around 2 years old now). In fact then I gashed my driver door panel offroad, replaced, it, and the brand new (pre painted Narvik gloss black) from JLR actually was a little wavier than the rest of them on my car.
It's held on by tape but also a bunch of plastic clips.
Makes a good case to ditch the gloss and go with the matte textured plastic ones..
Now if your double sided tape is coming loose - that needs to be fixed.
