Default Anyone Received an Activity Key since June?

I ordered my truck with an Activity Key and it was included in the MSRP and sales price and is listed on the invoice. Didn’t get it with the truck at delivery (6/28/21) because of “the chip shortage.” I’ll check with the dealer again next week but just wondering if anyone else has gotten one in July or August?

Hey! Not sure how they "pair" or if you have to take it to the dealer for them to do it... But you could have your original dealer credit you the amount and purchase one online it looks like.

I just added this to my cart to see if it would work and it does not say anything about being out of stock!

Activity Key

Decent chance I never use mine. Happy to sell if it's not locked to the vehicle.

My understanding is that it does have to be paired by the dealer. That is included in the sale, and will be included by the dealer when it comes in. If they credit me the 200 clams and I buy it elsewhere, I’ll just have to pay them for programming when I take it in.

Those are parts and instructions for the "first gen" activity key, the one without display that would pair to the 2017+ Discovery and other models, and is not compatible with the new Defender. Our Activity Key includes a display and needs to be paired to the car by a dealer as a separate new key, independent of existing key fobs (which may be left at home when the activity key is worn, as they won't be needed inside the car anymore - unlike the old style activity key.)

Yeah it's programmed to the car when you buy it. I think for programming, its like $200-300.

Picked up my Defender today. Well... Purchased. It's a remote buy so I saw it, paid for it, and they're holding it overnight for me. I'll drive home in the morning. Activity key was in the glove box! I'd upload a photo, but I'm on my phone and I can't scale it to be an acceptable photo attachment.
