Yep, it's still working just fine, still blinking away. The blinking blue light would be annoying, but for my driving position it's hidden behind the rear view mirror. Fortunately I haven't had the need to use any of the footage yet!

Also I forgot to update about the cable issue. I had reached out to the seller about the cable problem I had, and they sent out a replacement cable for free. It turns out they actually sent me the wrong cable with the dashcam which is why I had to modify it. The replacement cable uses a much smaller 3 pin connector and goes directly into the rain sensor itself, the original cable I modified plugs into the larger control module next to it. The correct cable works perfectly, only took me a minute or two to swap it out. I'd definitely recommend this dashcam, quality is pretty decent, it's no gopro (but then no dashcam is). and it's a bargain considering it's custom made for the defender.

yep, it doesn't impact the rain sensor at all.
