Default Anyone with wheel spacers on steel wheels?

Hi everyone. We've got a new 2020 Defender with the steel wheels and we're looking to add some wheel spacers to the set up to get the wheels a little more flush with the fenders. Don't have plans at the moment for a larger tire but do want to improve the look of the factory set up. I'm curious to see if anyone has attempted to run some wheel spacers with the factory set up and how large you went. We did measure and it looks like a 3/4" can work for the front and a 1 1/4" for the rear would work. Is that going to cause issues with the drivetrain/AWD system?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I just had H&R 25mm spacers installed on my Defender with the factory stock alloys. Just noticed that the spacers clearly have a yellow warning sticker that says not to install on steel rims.

Very interesting. I wonder why that would make a difference.

My assumption would be the difference in behavior between steel and alloy. Steel is softer and more likely to bend whereas alloy is stiffer and more likely to crack. I am not an automotive engineer, but if I designed spacers I would want them to fail before the rim failed as it would be less catastrophic to the vehicle. If they designed the spacer knowing the material properties of the alloy rim (and it has German writing so I will stereo-typically say yes) then you can design the spacer to fail before the rim. But with steel that isn't the case and if the vehicle is over stressing the rim due to changing deflection angles you could begin bending the rim and cause a wildly different failure.

But alas, this is just a wild guess.

Yep, I get the spacers fit perfectly.

but you're losing about 3-4 extra turns when tightening the wheels.

I remember reading anytime you add anything over 20mm you should extend the studs.

These spacers come with wheel studs attached to them.
