a 2022 defender hse400 owner. yesterday had a bad leak and found out that it was due to a stone hit. (i was traveling back to singapore from Malaysia). Picture attached to show the leak.
My question is, what are the odds of a stone hitting the aux radiator? I got really lucky? is there any guard or mesh that works for our defender?
This is extremely common. I had to have one of my aux radiators replaced under warranty because there was a pinhole leak caused by a tiny stone that hit it too hard. In fact, they found over a hundred tiny stones in my aux radiator. Although it looks like you got hit with a rather large stone. Regardless, assuming you're still under warranty, this is a warranty replacement. This is one of the reasons why they removed one of the aux radiators on new builds.
I’ve emailed a vendor I bought grilles from on my Porsche about this today and gave them a link to this thread. They’re pretty slick! Maybe they’ll make them, who knows?
Out of curiousity, what did they cost you for the porsche? Just trying to get a ball park on what something like this may end up costing if it is produced/offered.

$220 or so I believe? (5 grilles, center, and 2 on each side, for GTS 911). I bet this price point would be around $100-120 for 2 measly grilles. IDK though.

Zunsport? I always have their grill on my 911s. I was thinking exact same thing when I saw the pictures.
I'm with @starbai ! With all the aux leaks I've read on this forum, that's something I'm going to take a serious look at. Heck, I have some of those dorky headlight guards that I likely have less risk with! I'm definitely signing up/purchasing when I find something that is relatively targeted. (Meaning I don't want to cover the front with new armor if I can avoid it).
