Awning Tent
#11
Hi firstly this is my first post on this site after joining today so apologies if I show a lack of knowledge!
I'm glad I saw this, as I was about to buy said awning. But you're right it is of very limited use, also it doesn't even touch the ground. I've got a new 110 which I adore already, and I would like to camp in it. You can get the clam type tent that goes on the roof but I'm guessing that will require a roof rack or roof bars which I don't have.
No doubt as demand will be great and the new Defender is selling like hot cakes after market manufacturers will innovate and come up with other tent designs. If anyone knows of a similar awning/tent compatible with my 110 please let me know...

I"m a little late to this thread, and not wanting to muddy the waters, but though it was worth tossing in another consideration
We have had the pictured setup on our Toyota FJ for +/-5 years and it works great. An extended 270º awning and a stand alone tent that be pitched alone or zipped to the awning. Both by OzTent (www.oztent.com) Works like a dream. We've sat out many a storm in comfort and weathered a lot of hot days.
While no system is perfect nor without ****ly issues, we've loved this configuration and gear overall.
Once the new Defender 110x arrives we'll be revising the setup but it's a setup worth considering,
Oztent RV5 tent zipped to FoxWing 270 awning. Both can be pitched/setup separately or attached as shown
