Ooo!! Look what I found! If you go the Safe Jack route, I would recommend one of these. Heck if you go any bottle jack route, I'd recommend one of these:

For those with the arb jack or similar…. Where are you jacking from?
Don’t you need rock slider to use that style of jack

The only way you can use the Hi Lift or ARB with the new Defender is if you have rock sliders, or use one of the wheel attachments, but those aren’t helpful for changing a tire. I have lucky8 sliders and got the ARB and it’s amazing for off road use, but not really meant for changing tires unless you stabilize the car in other ways. Bottle Jack is the best option if you don’t have sliders. Just raise the car to max height first and use boards to get the Jack as high as possible and most any bottle Jack will work fine. Some people swear by Jacking under the lower swing arm in other LR models which raises the wheel right away, but I’ve never tried that.

"...Jacking under the lower swing arm in other LR models which raises the wheel right away," Interesting ! I never thought of that one.

This approach would tell the Defender the wheel was in contact with the ground and the vehicle is not high-centered. If so, it would not extend to the fullest amount the strut (maybe?).

I think I will need to try it (if it looks like it will not break the vehicle?).

Problem solved. I was able to use the Husky jack Inater recommended along with this ARB jack base

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-12...L12B/308174829

Amazon Amazon

with both units I get a solid 4 inches of lift. It’s stable and should do the job offroad! All fits neatly in the rear loadspace.

Time tested bottle jack! I'm a fan. I found it funny what the AI recommended when I clicked the link. Most people who buy this setup also get the cinder block....

I'd go with the OEM cinder block. A bargain at thrice the price but currently on back order due to chip shortages.
