Best vehicle settings for towing
You don't need a tow mode. The regular drive mode and the vehicle hardware are well suited for towing. I think that's why it's not there.
The standard bone stock is more than capable. The adaptive suspension does more than I understand, but towing up to ~6500 lbs over hill and down dale I've not encountered any issues. No sway, no seat of the pants moments; just solid, smooth, and simple.
Once something is connected to the hitch, the Defender's brains do the rest. You setup various trailer profiles to really dial it in. I guess that could be considered a tow mode.
I do agree, an advanced tow pack should come with a controller. It's a simple DIY of course but a tow pack should have you ready to go. I think most buyers would assume as much.

Yeah, I agree that a trailer brake controller should be included with the tow package. LR has never offered a trailer brake controller in the history of the brand, but every vehicle they build is already hardwired for one.
I went took apart my dash to remedy a rattle and there was a cable for a brake controller, and I don’t have the tow package.
