Default Black Arch above rear door

Noticed a while ago, maybe an ( early X-Dynamic ) design try out from JLR, but I think it looks rather good. Especially on the lighter colors.
You can save a black roof option by painting / wrapping only the arch.

So I did it, nothing to lose, easy reverting in case of...

Disassembled the 2 black corners,

Total of 4 M10 bolts under the arch.
Push upwards to release the metal clips from the arch.

Disassemble the 3rd breaklight with 10 Torx screws.

Have it wrapped locally in gloss black.
Everything in the same order re installed.

Result

Cheapest mod I did to my Defender...$ 25,- 😀

Nothing to add to this other than the D90 looks soooooo much better with the stupid Signature Graphic.

Nicely done! This is exactly I ordered mine (Hakuba) with a black roof. The back of this truck benefits so much from the contrast with lighter body colors and that arch.

Default Connecting the Alpine / Safari windows

New mod, connecting the Alpine/Safari windows. Inspiration came from this render of the baby defender

I put my Bestop Cargo Rack between the Thule wingbar Edge and when loaden it touches the Roof,
so some scratches and a paint chip did occur on the alu roof.
I was familiar with the 3M F506 blackout/ paint replacement film , very thick and durable textured black, so ordered a 4ft.piece.

Installing the film, roofrails removed first, film goes till under the roofrails

Sharkfin 1" to the rear

Wingbars back on

Cool. But wait, you punctured the aluminum roof? Pics of that? (that's surprising)

Back to White again - to remain more 'Farmer Spec' after the respray in Keswick Green
Still stand behind it for the lighter colors to wrap the rear arch black.

The new 20" white alloys 9013 would look lovely now on my car.. Very Happy

No Mud flaps for my 90.!
