Brake caliper swap
Has anyone who made the brake caliper swap notice any degradation in braking? I tow a camper and while I’d like to do the swap, I’m worried the braking performance will be degraded.
It's the exact same pad and the caliper piston is the same size. I've noticed no difference even with the heavier wheels and tires. The only trailer I tow that doesn't have trailer brakes is just a small utility trailer. Obviously with trailer brakes there's 0 impact, but I have not noticed a difference towing our small trailer either. I have obviously not done any scientific test, if the brake pad or caliper piston would have been smaller it might have given me pause, but it's literally the shape of the rear caliper that's the issue. Front Calipers fit fine once the "mud scraper" is removed and the front brakes provide most of the braking power.
