Just got the car back today, new paint on the lower bumpers (front and back), changed from all black to Shadow Atlas grey. IMO black on black on black was too much. I also had the "Defender" lettering changed from black to Shadow Atlas as well. Only thing left to swap is that little strip that holds the LR logo, I also have the grey version, just need to find some time to swap.
Along with that, the entire car is now wrapped in clear Paint protection film, SunTek Reaction, which has an embedded ceramic coating as well. Water just beads off now and the surface feels incredibly smooth. Off to some adventures!
Painting the front and back bumpers in Shadow Atlas looks awesome! I'm considering to paint mine the same way. May I please have to LR color codes for painting? Did you also paint the sides and corner plastic parts to body color?

Sorry, I'm not sure what the color code is. I essentially took it to my local LR shop and told them to paint it Shadow Atlas, and gave them the new lettering to use as reference if they needed it. It looks like they nailed it.
This made such a big difference visually, I love it. It really looks like a Defender now, where before you couldn't even make out the Defender lettering, and the car was a giant black blob. Now it matches the smoked taillights so nicely.
I recently got back from a mountain trip and snapped some pics
I can't agree more that Shadow Atlas Defender lettering, front and back bumper stand out much better than the giant black blob. Very tasteful combo indeed! I hope my local LR shop can duplicate the Shadow Atlas color. Your gloss black rear cover looks very cool too. I only find a silver one from the LR parts.
Bravo!! This looks killer. I have a 2021 P400SE in Carpathain Grey which is having the front/rear bumpers painted black, and the matte plastic trim is being replaced with gloss - then it’s onto the detailer for the full Stek Dynoshield PPF wrap. That Suntek PPF looks super glossy! How is it holding up?
Carpathain Grey with black front/rear bumpers is a very nice combo! Are you painting all side and corner matt plastic trims in gloss Carpathain Grey body color? I'm planning to paint mine into body color too but was told the matt parts have to be polished before painting in order to get the glossy body color. Have you heard the same from your body shop please?
Yeah its a killer combo! Not super common to see so I like how unique the color is. The matte plastic trim has bothered me since day one so I'm happy its getting upgraded.
The matte plastic is actually being replaced with the OEM LR gloss black panels through my dealer. My dealer said it is possible to paint the panels but they didn't stipulate how this would be achieved - I went through many people to find out how but the hoops to jump through made it easier to just purchase the new panels, despite the cost (peace of mind and all that). Weirdly, the gloss black front and rear bumpers are not available to purchase so these had to be painted by the dealer.

Yes, the texture has to be removed. This is a good thread that goes into that with a Taycan:
Thanks for the info! Yes, the process described in the Taycan thread is correct to remove the textured finish. I would be nice to be able to purchase all the plastic panels in gloss black...
