Default Cargo Storage Platform

Has anyone tried either of these cargo storage platforms? https://newdefendermods.com/products...orage-platform

There are cheaper versions on AliExpress. I'm tempted to try for when camping, but I know the plastic on the sides is not the most robust.

I’ve moved from the mesh basket style, to this one. I went with the AliExpress offering for cost, and in the past 10 years, I’ve had no issues with any of the quality of items purchased through this route (I may just be the lucky one)

Advantages :
  • high so I can now lift lids on anything stored on the boot floor (fridge, wolf boxes etc.)
  • Molle plate style base and sides means I can utilise these for storage of smaller items
Disadvantages:
  • narrower (total depth is 40cm) than the mesh basket, so restricts the size of storage items
  • awkward to put anything too deep in with height of access,
In an ideal world, someone needs to come up with something similar to this, but in between the height of this and the mesh basket, but with the same depth as the mesh basket!

Thanks for sharing @Ludders54 . Very helpful feedback. Indeed, I wish there was a sturdier and bigger option. I think one could build something tied into the cargo tie-downs, but I am not quite handy enough for that.

I have messaged Artway as they’re great innovators in design, it’ll be interesting to see if they can come up with the perfect solution 🙏🏼

Has anyone come across a cargo shelf designed for the 90?

@Ludders54 - Can you share a link? Not a big Ali user and not sure of the search. (Ok, I'm a moron...). Also, where'd you get the Land Rover computer bag/briefcase!?? Love that.

Here's the one I was looking at @GrouseK9 : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256...29812e0er9XKRG There are multiple vendors with similar offerings.

I like that one at the price ($220) but not so sure once you add $120 shipping. But I guess $340 is still better than the 500 dollar one in the first post. In the Jeep world this would be $189 delivered from Quadratec.

If I were to get one I’d use my own fasteners to connect the “bridge” to the two supports, using thumb screws you can turn by hand, so I could pull the bridge easily if needing to load a big box at the store. I might also tack-weld the screws so they would stay put and not turn without having to use a wrench on that side, plus they wouldn’t get lost when you removed the bridge.

I have done that, requires to make brackets behind the innerside panels.
