CarPlay Notification PopUp
I’m thinking software glitches from the iOS18 update, but I’ve stopped receiving visual iMessage screen popups when utilizing native LR Pivi screen apps (nav, etc.). I’m connected to CarPlay wirelessly. I can hear the iMessage tone through the car’s speakers, and music fades temporarily when the iMessage tone rings, but I no longer get the visual notification popup. Everything worked fine until I upgraded my old phone to iOS18 last week. Just bought the iPhone 16 Pro a few days ago and it’s doing the same thing. When I’m utilizing the CarPlay screen, notification popups appear normally. I have a friend who drives a newer BMW X5 and his system recently began doing the same thing as mine (works fine with CarPlay displayed, no visual notifications while using BMW screen apps). My LR software version is 4.1.5. Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions/suggestions/help??
I am having the same issue since the IOS update!! I no longer get Whatsapp notifications whilst on the home screen on the pivi pro or any other Land Rover app either. However the notifications do come through when you have the apple car play screen up buit as soon as you go back to the Land rover screen, nothing, even though apple car play is still running. Thanks IOS 18. Hopefully a fix is around the corner!!
I have the same issue!! It seems to work if you have applecarplay open and on the screen but as soon as you go back to the normal Land Rover Pivi screen no notifications come through!! Thanks IOS 18!! Now we have to wait for the fix!
I had a somewhat related issue the other day with PIVI and/or iOS18. Got into my Defender the other day and went to play some music through CarPlay, wireless connection. When the music started I was stunned to hear what sounded like a tinny, transistor radio-style sound output. There was virtually no bass, no top end volume, and the sound quality sounded like it was being played through a pair of two inch speakers. I went into the audio settings and my inputs had no effect. I couldn’t change the balance or fader, or the treble, bass, or subwoofer inputs. My first fear was that it would require a trip to the dealer, as I thought maybe the entertainment module needed replacing or a software update. When I got home I did what typically is the best fix for any of these problems. I did a hard reboot of the iPhone and next time I got into the Defender everything was back to normal. Same advice applies for when a cable set-top box, or laptop, or most electronic devices goes haywire. Usually unplugging a device or rebooting it clears the problem easily. Go with the simplest fix first, can’t make it worse and it usually solves the issue.
It's the IOS update, it is the same when conected to my Mercedes..
