Ceramic Coating Time
I love detailing my cars. Something about the process is therapeutic to me. Once I learned how to correct polish/correct the paint I was hooked. Such a drastic difference and really doesn’t take as long as people seem to think (caveat- provided again that you enjoy the process). Looks good!

A construction buddy once told me that he never met a sober house painter. I'm thinking the sobriety of working on that has to be on par with house painting! Looks absolutely awesome. Regrettably I don't have the focus, patience, skills, etc...
Apparently it's very much statistically true. The chemicals in older paints cause some sort of nerve damage that is a little bit painful and causes shaking. Alcohol actually eases the pain and relieves the shake.
Also, wife and I are going out for cocktails with some friends at 6.

Done for today with 1 coat of ceramic. Dead battery slowed me down a bit.
Extremely happy with the easy of application. It's very forgiving and it looks stunning on the Narvik black.
Tomorrow it gets coat #2 and the silica-carbide coating.

I also enjoy washing and emailing my car. i am glad i am not alone. Put the headphones on and tune the rest of the world out
i have never completed a full car ceramic coat before but understand the process. You really have to take your time and dedicate a couple days to complete the job. it’s way more cost effective to do it yourself and you can get all instructions on youtube
this is why you see so many detail shops popping up. they are everywhere now. same for PPF. take some experience but guys making a killing doing it

I wet it down this morning after yesterday's single coat and I think a lot of people would be very happy right where it is. Water falls off and it's completely dry when you hit it with a blower.
Just starting coats 2 and 3 now. This part should go really fast.
Had 2 very small overlap spots on the glass that would not wipe off for anything but isopropyl alcohol took it right off.
Interesting about your battery. Interesting as I am a bit on the touchy side about that as well. Only had the car for a couple of weeks and have only been able to drive it now a grand total of 5 times. Something to do with breaking two ribs skiing last week, diving is a pleasure now. What has happened is twice I have gotten in the car for it to display low battery. Now perhaps I am not turning it off correctly, but I noted it when I brought it to the dealer to replace the really cracked (8") windshield that got wasted by a rock on the drive home from picking it up. Seems they too are having a problem with it being connected to wifi, but not being able to connect to Land Rover's overmind. So I wonder if it gets stuck continually pinging to attempt to connect, slowly draining the battery. We shall see, they want it another day or two to fix that glitch.
The ceramic sounds nice, but I wonder if I really don't need to install some clear wrap on the zone behind the wheels. My range rover got a fairly sizable sandblasted region from my use off-road over the years. Especially in the plastic painted clad on the lower zone. Anybody done something like that to keep that erosion down, or does the ceramic help?

Ceramic won't really do anything for sandblasting or rock damage. It's like modern wax. It helps with bird droppings, sap, mineral stains, things like. When I got home from dinner last night, I blew the love bugs right off the front.
