Hey gang

im in the market for a Defender 110 P400. I must have tow pack, 3 zone climate control. Would REALLY like locking rear differential but could live without it.

My budget is about 85k, looking used only. Current choices

CPO 2020 X. 54k mile. That feels like a lot and is really the only negative, has tow pack. It’s otherwise perfect. But it’s certified 🤷🏻‍♂️

CPO 2020 HSE. 18k miles. Tow pack but NO locking diff. All the other goodies. Beautiful and in fantastic condition for a good price. Also certified.

2020 HSE with off road and tow pack. 32k mi. NOT certified. Also across the country so shipping would be a pain. Would end up being more $$$

or, wait and see what comes along. I’ve noticed not a whole lot of inventory turns over.

What say you???

First option, without a doubt. The tow pack will add $$, but preserve it's retail better. The tow pack gives you a lot of internal goodness as well.

First option. The miles may seem like a lot but its certified pre owned which is 1/yr unlimited miles. Being a 2020 it is my understanding that you get 5 years (factory 4 plus 1 CPO) from service date with unlimited miles. I would look up what maintenance services are coming due or may have already been done within the 54,000 miles just to get an idea of what your costs will be in the near future.

Ended up going with option number two. I found out option one, with 54,000 miles was an off lease vehicle, where they put 45,000 miles a year on it. That made me feel very uncomfortable. Option two still has the tow pack but no locking rear DEF. I found two separate cars with locking rear diffs and not used the locking differential on either vehicle. One was a TRD pro forerunner, and a-trac sufficed more than enough. I think the Land Rover terrain response is at least as good right??

The second option was everything else I wanted including interior color, plus the dealership work with me to cut a great deal. It has the tow pack so get Terrain response 2 and atpc.

Very nice! Good choice, looks clean. To be honest, with the silver bumpers and spare cover, the 2-tone wheels don't look bad at all. I forgot if those are 19s or 20s.

I think that’s a great choice. I have a 2021 P300 with similar miles and love it. Also with the tow pack but no locking rear diff. For general trail driving and some snow it hasn’t had any issues and I think has a lot more to give. The terrain response is excellent and does a good job of making up for not have the locking diff. Plus the towing package gives you the auto terrain setting.

Great choice!! I seriously wanted the e-diff as well but the Dealer or JLR F'd up my order royally. I've never really needed it and have done some light/moderate off-roading. It can be added afterwards but it is a pita and expensive. I plan on abusing myself after my warranty runs out and going ahead & doing it. You'll love the Defender and that one looks sweet!
