Default Cold wind in the cabin

2025 Defender 110, D250 X SE

Hello guys,

I have some issues with my defender, where some cold air comes inside the cabin, at the glove box area. I'm using this car in the winter only and my wife always complaints about that cold air coming in. Anyone else experienced this and if so, did you find a fix for it?

No issues with cold air coming in. Check your fan and temp control settings. If the issue still persists, take it to the dealer to have them check it out.

Did your wife turn the temperature dials to Cold? When the dials are turned to warm does your cabin receive warm air? Recirculation mode/button changes how the vehicle draws in fresh.

What are your HVAC settings? Do you have rear HVAC controls as well? Do you have it set on Auto, or are you using the manual fan speeds? Maybe someone can diagnose based on the settings. It's the first time I've heard/read about something like this happening, so it's not a common thing. Are the vents pointed at her?

To answer your question: Definitely don’t have this “drafty” issue in my L663 around the glovebox area.

Something is amiss on yours. Maybe one ventilation “flapper” is bad or something. (ie instead of routing hot air, it’s stuck and letting cold air through). I’d think that would be throwing a climate control code.

I had a scenario this summer in Moab where the rear center console vent stopped working. Ie -- cold air would not come out of the vent in the back of the center console. For a week. It was a servo / flapper in the console. it did throw an error code when I checked the system with my gap tool. Strangely enough too, it fixed itself. But I’m wondering if you pulled codes, if you might see something similar in your HVAC module. Could be that simple.

Hello, I have the same problem. I took the car to the dealer, but unfortunately, they couldn't resolve the issue! I would also be very interested in a solution!

As this car is only or generally being driven in the winter time, the settings are always on heating. There is hot air being blown from the vents but there is a light cold breeze coming from the glove box area. The dealer said there is nothing wrong with the car but Land Rover dealer in Romania, is completely useless, with old tools, very bad services, etc. I don't think the dealer will ever fix any issue in there.

I took the car for a oil+filters change at around 9k km while they are recommending changing oil at 25k km which i think is insane. They did a full service on the car, replacing DPF filters, and others, and ended up charging me around 1000EUR. Again, the car was not due for a service...
