Default Color Change Wrap

Hey Defender Community!

Debating wrapping the Defender, lots of Black 110's showing up in my neck of the woods, and always like to be a little different :-)

Anyone had experience wrapping their own? I wrapped my Model Y Performance last summer, and while it was a pain, it was really fun, the Defender seems like another fun Challenge. Any shared experiences would be awesome, so far I can only see needing to dismantle the following:
  • Front grille
  • Front headlight surrounds
  • Wheel Arches
  • Spare wheel
  • Debadge
  • Ladder
  • Cargo Box
Fun and stressful times :-)

My local dealer actually offered this to me because I told him I didn’t like the color of a defender he was offering me (black). He was trying to charge $9999 to wrap it in a different color but I passed. I’ll be interested to see how yours comes out if you end up doing it.

Well I can't adjust the file size once it's uploaded, so sorry for the extra large photos, but there's the MYP before and after. For a first Wrap Job, did pretty damn good! I will likely redo the front bumper this summer, but the defender doesn't look TOO bad. Realistically, if I don't do the roof, it saves on quite a bit of time removing things and re-installing, and that would be more on line with how the higher end models end up looking (base is color 1 and roof/mirror caps are color 2):

Before -- Generic Blue

After: 3M Matte Military Green

Pretty simple easy car to wrap. I doubt you could get a 110 to look that good.

prob w the wrap is that you lose the exterior color coming into the interior... the doors / sills etc.. i painted mine

I don't mind the black on the interior, good thing about color wrap, it's temporary and it could easily be changed again :-) at least the door sills and the jabs are somewhat easy to get into. But your interior is beautiful!

if you start with black i totally agree- i have seen too many lambos with the blue metallic wrap that stops just a bit too abruptly to show a white car... can't wait to see what you do!

There's this wrapped one at my local dealer:

I didn't know the Defender could have plaid seats.
