I am wondering if anyone else has begun to experiment with the Configurable Terrain Response settings within TR2?

I continue to find the AUTO setting my best default one, and am beginning to experiment with seeing if any CTR adjustments are an improvement over AUTO (or the deep sand/snow and mud settings which I use when I want to turn off DSC).

My experiments so far suggest that:

a) locking the center diff. before it is needed, which is standard historical practice, feels in my bottom and my ears to be extremely old-school, as it creates a twisting yaw back and forth, as well as wheel spin (which is shown on the 4x4 screen -- interesting) and audible grinding. When I am in the AUTO setting there is neither existent in the exact same situation -- due to the more efficient use of power across all four wheels.

b) the light throttle setting is REALLY light -- I am not sure what to make of it yet. I am looking for some really wet grass (or hard packed, powder snow) on a vertical for that one.

I haven't had the opportunity to play with it since the last OBX trip, but I will again.... though I THINK we're taking the Jeep on the next trip.
