Wow that initial order timeline was quite aggressive.

I put my name on the waitlist a few months ago and at that time I was told I should take delivery around June 2022.

My dealer called today to let me know that we’re now looking at about 9-12 months from now. Gotta love the supply chain madness.

That seems odd.... What kind of waitlist and where is the dealer located?

JLR of Nashville. Basically you put down a deposit of 1k in order to get in line so you can eventually order a car when they get an allocation. I thought this was pretty standard now?

I put my deposit in today and I am 8th in line. Dealer told me they expect I will get allocated in Feb, March at the latest. Delivery would be in June or July. Guess we will see.

no deposit here and in the “holding” pool. Supposed to find out more in the next “1-2 weeks”.

been about a week since the order and I was given a April-June delivery date.

if it’s anything past that I’m pulling the plug.

I put in a deposit (2500$) on a Defender late August 2021. Im @ 15 deep in the wait to order allocation line. Dealer is in Boise, ID. They received 2 Defenders in Aug, 2 in Sept, 0 in Nov. No order allocations as of last week Dec 21. Order allocations seem to be on hold. Dealer says 4-6 months wait to be able to submit my allocation to build and another 3-4 Months to see it delivered to the dealership. He did say that they have a few people a month give up on waiting and refund there deposit so I have that to look forward to.

I am cringing reading all these situations where people have been waiting months and months, dealing with set backs and delays. I decided to look at the Defender back in late October, I checked the interwebs for prices and did my research, I saw how tight the market was and how the used market was pulling over MSRP prices.
I was looking for a 110 X or at least a highly spec'd X-Dynamic, I had reached out to a few dealers on web adverts and in the first week of November I called a dealer in VA about a 21' 110 X with 3800 miles, he told me sorry but it was spoken for "BUT" I have a new X coming in similar spec. I put a $1500 deposit down and as of this morning it's on the boat and landing in Baltimore around 14/15th. So about a month and a half from first thought to delivery.... please don't hate me!

hey man, happy for you actually ! I wish I wasn’t picky enough to want to special order. The amount of customization one can do to these really makes it difficult to just get one “off the lot “.

Order mine end of August, build was done Nov 10, arrived at UK port on Nov 22nd and it is still sitting at port today, 12/8. Was told it would take about 3 weeks once it gets on loaded on Ship to be delivered to my dealer in Atlanta.
