Has anyone else experienced a rattle in the plastic below the 2nd row window? Mine happens to be on the passenger side and if I reach over and push on it while driving it stops but that's obviously not a permanent fix. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

 

Yep, had the same issue on both sides. The dealership fixed it under warranty by putting on sound deadening mat and felt tape on both panels.

 

Thanks, McKinneyBear that's the direction I was headed but I have no idea how to take the panels off. Back to the dealership I go.

 

Is the rattle you’re describing only when using the speakers? Or it’s caused by driving?

 

Oh, the speakers rattle as well but this particular one is caused by driving...even when the radio is off.

 

Yep. My D90 does. Its not the speaker. Its all the hard plastic trim. I fixed most of mine with little pieces of black felt. LR has HIGHLY inconsistent manufacturing practices. My 2022 never once creaked, cracked or made a single noise. My 2023.5 was loaded with creaky plastic noises.

My drivers side doesn't make a peep, the passenger side was loaded with clicky cracking plastic sounds. My guess is that the person on the passenger side of the assembly line installing the interior plastic panels SUCKED!!

 

This is a very common place for the L663 to rattle. Fold seats forward, undo the torx head holding the cover hook, use a trim tool to pop the inner panel towards you, pop the rear portion of the trim up. Get your felt tape (Land Rovers should come with a roll in the glovebox!) look for witness marks in the plastic and pad those areas first. My 2022 is a mess of ticky-tacky plastic squeaks n rattles... it's a manufacturing tolerance thing rather than the skill of the person popping the panels in on their clips most likely.

 

This is an enormous help. I have gone as far as undoing the torx head but wasn't sure how the plastic went together and was concerned I would end up making matters worse. I'll pick up a trim tool and give it a go this weekend.

 

you can see the outline of the inner piece easy enough, start at the back edge... the piece that covers the seat latch loop from the rear/top is spring-clipped at the rear, plastic on plastic nearer the front. there is a body seam that runs under this piece that sometimes is a bit tall, most L366's rattle at the front corner near the side glass of the rear, larger piece of trim, make sure to pad under the larger piece of body-inside trim that remains in place as extra insurance. If anyone has a bright idea on how to quell the speaker vibes on this bit I'm all ears!! Caveat: this time of year make sure your plastic is warm enough to move not shatter!

 

I think I have a window squeak in the rear left. New car, just started. Fishing for it. Maybe just cause cold right now?
