D90 P300 vs P400
Greetings. I am wondering if some one has real life experience with a D90 P300 vs. a D90 P400. How much of a difference really is between the two, driving on and off road, and what do you like and/or dislike ? I am looking at the same configuration for both, as I am debating in getting a D90 - just not sure about the engine. In fact, I got a loaner, a D90 with a P400 engine now and it is impressive on the highway. I know nothing about a P300 for the same model ( engine wise experience ).
Any thoughts, with real life experience is highly appreciated.

P300 is a little bit less impressive on the highway, fact.
( But Turn the gear selector in S and floor it, it will go still very quick.) max.119mph
It's serious lighter, cheaper, less battery and electronics MPEV .Gas consumption is a little less than the P400 ( both are bad)
I love it and use it off road in all conditions. Best to see the Bowler Defender, based on a P300

Yeah if you want to pump yourself up on the P300 just check out https://www.bowlermotors.com and read about what they do with them.
You can also do the JB4 tune from Burger Motorsports for an additional 30HP/50TQ.

I daily a P300 110 and have no complaints. Does what I want, I can zoom off the start and get ahead of traffic if I want. I can also dial it back and pick up some MPG. All that and I can still tow 7500 pounds.
P400 is a nice motor as well. When building it threw me over the top of my budget, so I "settled" for the P300, but now that I've lived with it I have no desire to do anything different.

I've not met anyone driving a P300 with an ounce of regret in not buying the P400. None.
Whenever my P400 is getting replaced (no time soon) I'll go P300. For my needs there is no downside to the P300, a nice savings of $10,000, and I could spec it with the OEM 18" rims. That's another big saving.
When I built mine in 2021, the build site forced an SE trim and the P400 engine. If memory serves it was the addition of the third row. That changed shortly thereafter and is no longer the case for 7 seaters. The build site is always a moving target WRT specs and options.

Absolutely zero regrets. Plenty quick enough on the highway, tows well. I also found the delayed acceleration of the SC on the P400 to be a bit unnerving. P300 acceleration is much more linear and predictable.
Based on my experience with my 110, if I were ordering 90 I would order a P300 without hesitation.

Same thoughts here. I recently traded in my 2022 P300 for a 2023 P400, and while I'm happy with it I prefer the P300. The 400 has the advantage for merging into traffic at higher speeds, but the 300 was perky enough and I actually prefer it as it was a more relaxed drive. Actually got better mileage with it than I am with the P400.
