I’ve confirmed with Land Rover than the 90 seats will not fold flat because the cushions don’t come up... maybe they can be removed with a few tools, will have to see.

Hello everybody,

I have a P400 - 90 coming in the next weeks and know this picture from Landrover press very well.
My mom just got her D250 - 90 last week, what a great car but the boot is very small.

The seat does not fold flat.
The picture with my dog shows it in normal case if you just flip it to the front.

The picture with the silver Defender from Landrover uses a trick.
You can remove the bench without any tools, it just clips in at five positions.
If you do this it is nearly flat, see my pictures with the bench removed already.

Overall I have to say, the car is great but the boot of the 90 is way to small,
as Landrover decided to keep the space for the rear seats like in the 110, but
shortened the boot.

I still try to find a solution to put the Dog in the car, was already thinking of
skipping my incoming P400 - D90.

If you have more questions let my know as we already have a D90.

Ben

This is super helpful, thanks for posting! Yep the boot seems fairly small... does it even fit a regularly sized carry-on bag? We'll be doing a 10-14 day trip with the family on the D90 when we pick it up later this year, looks like we'll need a rooftop box.

Wow thanks! As great as the 90 looks, I’ll have to make the switch to the 110.

I prefer the 2-door Bronco over the Defender 90 and the Defender 110 over the 4-door Bronco.

I own a 2021 Defender 90 X, and I can confirm the seats are angled like this. I love the car so far, but storage is useless. Also, there's an issue going on in the states where defender 90 air con systems have been overfilled to the level that is spec'd for the 110s. So the compressor freezes up on a hot day. I just had my system drained and refilled, and seems normal now. This is a known issue. Also, we've been having a handful of electrical problems. But this is a Land Rover, so I was expecting maintenance.

Back to storage... the current situation is very useless, but I plan to investigate removing the back seats. We pretty much never have friends in the car, so I'm going to convert to a two-seater with a ton more (logical) storage space.

We had the Ac overfill issue and a few electrical issues, but the biggest issue right now is the rattling…seems like everything from the front seats back rattles from the Meridian surround sound system…have you noticed it? A D90 X owner in California had the same problem and they tracked it to bad welds !?!?

Seriously, the rear seat pulls up and out without an issue, no tools required. Takes a second. And can store vertically right in front of the seat backs when you lower those. Now with the X, don't know about the heated/cooled seats option...

Would anyone know the measurements in the rear cargo area? Specifically I'm looking for length. I saw one youtube video where the reviewer said it was around 44 inches from the edge of the rear cargo opening to the end of the folded seat. Does that sound right? And would anyone know the length from the back of the front seat to the edge of the rear cargo opening? With the seat slid forward too? Sorry for the questions, but I can't find the info anywhere, and the local dealer doesn't have a 90...
