D90 Rear seats - do they fold flat?
Looked at a D90 today, tried to fold the rear seats down flat but they would not. Asked the salesman if they fold flat and he said the D90 is more of "fun weekend car" not meant to haul gear. Could not get a straight answer.
So D90 owners, please advise.... Will the rear seats fold flat? Thanks!

I can't say on the 90, though even if they could the 90 seems to have that little ledge behind the seats.

Are you being loose with the definition of flat?
Because ours doesn't.
Granted I haven't tried pushing real hard on the seat base, but even in the photos on that other thread the second row wasn't completely flat afterwards, it was still tilted upward at the front a bit.

I thought the existing thread was mostly about the 110 and that the answer varied whether you had the third row or not. IIRC on the 110 the rear seats folded flat of you didn't have the third row. But maybe I'm remembering wrong. We have the third row so we're out of luck.

Is it that the D90 rear seat removes with clips and that allows the backs to fold flat on it?
Here's the thread that shows the problem with the D110 7 seaters. Not sure if the seat base removes on those, but if not that one doesn't fold fully flat. See post #22 and on.

Not sure the point you're making?

I didn't see the thread you linked too before. I was thinking the other thread I linked to that didn't say much about the 90.
Thanks!

I plan on ordering a D90 this summer. I plan on building a plywood shelf to make it flat. Just cut a couple 1x's to the height needed to level out and attach to a piece of plywood, Then cover all with some carpet. Easy enough to remove if need be.
To me this is the best option because there's already a 5" rise from the back of the rear seat. My plan will loose a triangular space that's under the plywood, but I'll have the entire rear area flat.
Or you could just completely remove the second row seat.
