Default D90 wind noise in driver B pillar

Well, the single thing that I have found - after letting BEARLY break in for 1000 miles is that when at highway speeds and no stereo, you hear wind noise above about 50-55mph.

I assume that I need to get some KillMat in there? I am sure there are other (better?) things to use?

This is still happening on the 2023 Defender?

You would think Land Rover would have sorted it after three years of production.

Although there's no wind noise from the A pillar on my 2022 90.

I remember reading about A pillar problems earlier, but this is the B pillars. Now that I have had it for a month, it's both my side and passenger.

The A pillar is the one between the front door and the windshield.

That's what they call the B pillars. A in front windshield, C is behind the 2nd pair of doors if they're there.

Okay

My A pillars are quiet but l get a fairly intrusive wind rustle noise from behind my ear on the B pillar if l drive with the window lowered a few inches.

Right, I do hear more with either window cracked or even the sunroof vented. You're introducing more pressures when you do.

The part that bothers me is completely sealed up during hiway driving. Around here (NC, SC, TN) 70 is the limit and 76-78 is the prevailing rate, unless you are in the mountains or otherwise twisty roads. In middle or eastern Tennessee they apparently use Jersey rules: anything is legal if you don't get caught. People were flying by at 90 all over the Imterstates, anyway.

Same observation on my 2021 D90 with windows closed and at highway speeds. It would be great to understand if there’s a way to reduce the window noise near the B pillar.

I'm going to go at it when I swap out the speakers. I will report back...
