Any one have any good suggestions for rear mounted ski rack for a 110? I will eventually be getting a roof rack, but wasn’t sure if there are any hitch or rear tire mounts that work well.
I wasn’t sure on hitch mounted because of the 5th door.
I can’t get into my garage with the ski racks mounted on the expedition roof rack. I decided to try this reciever mount (https://chuckrack.com/) vs roof mount. Seems to work fine around the neighborhood. Still need to try at 65+
I put our skis in ski bags and then just run them through the center inside the Defender. I know it doesn’t answer your question, but it’s what I settled on as the easiest solution
Put them inside or on the roof (preferably in a roof box). Your gear will get wrecked if you're driving anywhere that snows from whatever they treat the roads with in your region. Think about the moving parts in your bindings, etc... all caked up.

I was using the roof bars plus my Thule Motion box. Fine for a big road trip but annoying for weekly local skiing. I purchased the Fabbri Gringo for the spare wheel (https://www.fabbri.info/en/collezion...ngo-ski-board/). It is super light, easy to get on and off, and looks pretty awesome. They have other configs for bikes and snowboards but the Gringo is ski only - up to 4 pairs. Had one issue with a friend who brought big powder skis, which limited the holder to 3 pairs. Also, with my skis in, it’s now actually taller than the big roof box, but with no skis, it’s barely there. Rear wiper works when installed as well.
