Default defender 2021 110 cup holder rubber deformed.

I took my car to the dealer yesterday because the cup holder rubber has deformed inwards and will not pop back out. The dealer will not replace the item much to my disappointment.has anyone had theirs deform and what did you do? Seems like LR won't class this a warranty item anymore?

My wife’s 90 did that but it didn’t bother us. Not faulting you for it bothering you just saying we didn’t think much of it.

It dang sure didn’t effect trade in value 😎

I kind of think that's a warranty item. I'd escalate it. I seem to recall I had the same issue on a 2010 Sport Supercharged way back in the day (those little rubber flexible nubs in the cupholder, right?) -- anyway, it was replaced no questions under warranty.

Grab it and pull it back into position.

My 10 yr old poked one of them making an inny from an outie.

Tweezers and 10 seconds of my time.

Probably not worth contacting JLR head office for.

Finally, a voice of reason. Amid the calls for ‘Warranty’, and ‘take it up with JLR’, it takes common sense to realize all it takes it to simply “pull it back out”. I’m still laughing.

how did you do that with tweezers without damaging the rubber? one of mine is pushed in, hasn't really bugged me, but if there's an easy fix that doesn't damage anything I'm down. I was thinking a small suction cup, or maybe one of those pull release picture hanging strips.

Gorilla tape would probably do the trick.

I grabbed the rubber extrusion/seam with a tweezers and gave it a gentle tug popping it back out. It takes seconds.

just tried this with a small pair of pliers, no dice I'll have to hunt down something smaller. I forgot there was a little ridge/seam along the middle of the bump. a wide headed pair of tweezers might be a good investment. also fyi, gorilla tape doesn't stick to the rubber well enough, even tried poking a small nail thru a piece so I could pull from the center.
